IATF 16949 Certification is the International Standard developed by IATF as the criteria of compliance for Quality Management System requirements for Automotive Supply Chain. This standard is based on ISO 9001 requirements and customer specific requirements of the automotive sector. URS is a recognised body from SMMT (one of the IATF oversight) for IATF 16949 certification.
International Automotive Task Force (IATF) is a group of Automotive Manufacturers and their respective National Automotive Industry Associations, formed to define, establish and maintain a system for management of Quality System in Automotive Supply Chain worldwide for cars, components and parts. IATF has created five Oversight offices located in France (IATF France), Germany (VDA-QMC), Italy (ANFIA), United Kingdom (SMMT) and United States of America (IAOB) to administer the IATF registration scheme.
IATF 16949 certification ensures that the quality management system requirements of automotive production that includes design, development, production, fabrication, assembly and installation, is effective and consistent throughout the automotive supply chain.
